Artist Introduction

Lu Zhongnan (born December 1950, Wuhan, ancestral home: Jiyuan, Henan). He is a celebrated Chinese calligrapher who receives special government allowance from the State Council of China. He serves as Director‑Member of Chinese Calligraphers Association, Vice‑Chairman of Hard‑Pen Calligraphy Committee and Member of Regular‑Script Committee of CCA. He was a member of the 10th and 11th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and Research Librarian & Director of Design Division at the Military Museum of the Chinese People’s Revolution.

Lu Zhongnan is widely recognized for his regular script (Kaishu). His calligraphy inherits the traditions of Ouyang Xun’s O‑style regular script, enhanced with greater weightiness and solidness. He masters both small‑character works and large‑character calligraphy, and has inscribed plaques for numerous public institutions across China. His artworks are collected by national museums, state guest houses and Chinese overseas embassies.
