Work Meaning & Introduction

Product Overview

This is an original running-script calligraphy work by Lu Zhongnan, a prestigious contemporary Chinese calligrapher. The artwork presents Su Shi's immortal ci poem Nian Nu Jiao · Memories of the Past at Red Cliff (念奴娇·赤壁怀古), from the magnificent opening 大江東去,浪淘盡,千古風流人物 (The great river flows eastward, its waves sweeping away the heroes of a thousand ages) to the wistful close 人間如夢,一尊還酹江月 (Life is but a dream — let me pledge this cup to the river moon). A horizontal masterpiece of Song-dynasty lyricism rendered in flowing xingshu, ideal for halls, studies and offices, and as a premium cultural collectible & gift.
