Shipping & Delivery
Shipping & Delivery
Every BadouArt artwork is an original, hand-painted piece. Here is exactly how we deliver it to your door, anywhere in the world.
1. Free insured express shipping on unframed originals
All unframed original artworks ship free worldwide via insured international express (DHL/FedEx/UPS or equivalent). Your artwork travels rolled in a heavy-duty protective mailing tube, and is fully insured for its full value until it reaches you.
- Order processing: 1–3 business days (inspection, signing/seal verification & professional packing)
- Estimated transit: 5–10 business days to most countries/regions
- Tracking: a tracking number is emailed as soon as your order ships, and you can also check it on our Order Tracking page
2. What you receive
Artworks are sold as unmounted originals on rice paper (art core / 画芯), signed and sealed by the artist. They arrive rolled and are ready for your local framer to mount (托裱) and frame to your taste and interior.
3. Mounting & framing — quoted per project
We offer professional Chinese mounting (soft mounting, hard mounting and traditional scrolls) as well as bespoke framing. Because framed works require custom wooden crating and freight varies greatly by size and destination, shipping for mounted/framed works is quoted separately. Please contact us before ordering; we will confirm framing options, lead time (typically 3–6 weeks including framing) and all-in delivery cost.
4. Customs, duties & taxes
We ship with a commercial invoice showing the true artwork value. Any import duties, customs fees or local taxes are the responsibility of the recipient. Hand-painted original artworks often qualify for reduced or zero duty (e.g. US HTS 9701), but rules differ by country; we are happy to provide any documentation your customs authority requires.
5. Delivery restrictions
For compliance and safe delivery, we are unable to ship to countries under comprehensive international sanctions. If your region is affected, please contact us and we will explore an alternative arrangement.
6. Receiving your artwork
Please inspect the tube and artwork in front of the courier. In the unlikely event of damage, keep all packaging and contact us at badouart@outlook.com within 48 hours with photos, and we will handle the insurance claim on your behalf.
7. FAQ: Will I be charged customs fees, duties or taxes?
Short answer: product prices and free shipping do not include import duties or local taxes. If your customs authority assesses any, they are paid by the recipient.
- How much will I pay? Hand-painted original artworks are classified under HS code 9701. Import duty is typically 0% in the United States, the United Kingdom and the European Union; local import VAT may still apply (for example, reduced rates for original artwork in the UK at 5% and Germany at around 7%). Thresholds vary by country and may change.
- Do I need to clear customs myself? No. DHL, FedEx or UPS acts as the customs broker and clears the shipment on your behalf. Before delivery you will receive a payment link by email or SMS for any duties, taxes and a small disbursement fee — simply pay online and the artwork is delivered to your door. You do not need to visit customs or hire a broker.
- What we provide: a commercial invoice showing the true value (HS 9701, original hand-painted artwork, signed and sealed by the artist) together with a Certificate of Authenticity, to support smooth clearance and the correct duty treatment.
- Duty-paid (DDP) option for businesses: hotels, designers and corporate buyers who prefer all duties and taxes paid to the door can contact us for an all-in delivered quotation.
