About the Artist
Liu Junjing is a council member of the China Calligraphers Association and Vice-Chairman of the Beijing Calligraphers Association, whose career combines classical calligraphy with the philosophy of health and wellness. His works have travelled into space aboard the Shenzhou VIII spacecraft and are collected by the Great Hall of the People and the National Museum of Chinese Writing.
Artist Introduction
Liu Junjing (刘俊京) is a council member of the China Calligraphers Association, Vice-Chairman of the Beijing Calligraphers Association, Vice-Chairman of the Central State Organs Artists Association, President of the Chinese Buddhist Art Research Institute and of the China Health Painting and Calligraphy Research Institute, and Chairman of the Beijing Dongcheng District Calligraphers Association. He studied calligraphy under the celebrated master Ouyang Zhongshi. His works have been selected for the 8th and 9th National Calligraphy Exhibitions, the 4th National Regular Script Exhibition and the 8th International Calligraphy Exchange Exhibition, and he has won numerous national competition prizes, including the silver award in the national TV calligraphy competition. He was named one of Beijing’s “Top Ten Outstanding Young and Middle-Aged Calligraphers” and received the Beijing Municipal “Both Virtue and Art” award for literary and art workers. One of his calligraphic works flew into space aboard the Shenzhou VIII spacecraft, and his pieces are collected by the Memorial Hall of Chairman Mao, the Great Hall of the People, the Museum of the War of Chinese People’s Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the National Museum of Chinese Writing, as well as by institutions and collectors worldwide. He has published more than ten albums and books, including “Collected Calligraphy of Liu Junjing” and “Liu Junjing’s Health Painting and Calligraphy”.
