Yin Jinghua Paints Chairman Mao Portrait as a Gift

Yin Jinghua, a featured painter of Badou Art, painted a portrait of Chairman Mao Zedong and presented it in person to the Chairman’s daughter, Li Min. The gift expressed his deep respect and remembrance for one of modern China’s most consequential figures.

The portrait was created in Yin’s characteristic rigorous realist style. Two companion works, *Laughing Over the Winds of the World* and *Golden Years*, accompanied the presentation, extending the theme from portraiture into the sweep of history.

Yin Jinghua, studio name Miaohua Zhai, was born in 1967 in Gushi, Henan Province. He is a director of the Chinese Painting Society, a member of the China Artists Association and the Guangdong Artists Association, a director of the Shenzhen Artists Association, vice chairman of the Futian District Artists Association in Shenzhen, a specially engaged painter of the China Great Wall Calligraphy and Painting Academy, chief painter of Badou Art, an adjunct professor at Xinyang Normal University, and director of the Nanyuan Art Museum.
